Mangaluru International Airport handled 5,851.74 tonnes of cargo during financial year 2025-26, highlighting its growing role in supporting trade and logistics activity in coastal Karnataka.
The cargo throughput figure was disclosed by the Union Government, underscoring the airport’s contribution to the region’s air cargo infrastructure. The facility serves businesses across Karnataka and neighbouring markets, providing an important air connectivity option for time-sensitive and high-value shipments.
Mangaluru’s strategic location along the Karnataka coast gives it access to a wide industrial and commercial hinterland. The airport’s cargo operations support the movement of products requiring faster transportation, complementing road and sea-based logistics networks.
The continued movement of cargo through the airport is also expected to benefit exporters and importers in sectors such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, perishables and other time-sensitive industries.
With regional trade and logistics activity expanding, Mangaluru International Airport is positioned to play a larger role in strengthening air cargo connectivity and supporting supply-chain requirements in coastal Karnataka.
