Taiwan’s Evergreen Marine Corporation has placed orders for 14 LNG dual-fuel containerships, each of 14,000 TEU, in a deal valued at about $2.8bn.
The contract is split evenly between China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International and South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries, with deliveries scheduled across 2028–2030, according to brokerage data.
The price indication is about $200m per vessel, and the ships are specified with dual-fuel capability (LNG and conventional bunker fuel), aimed at lowering emissions from future operations.
Evergreen Marine Corporation is a publicly listed Taiwanese liner operator and part of the Evergreen Group.
Guangzhou Shipyard International is a major Chinese shipbuilder under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
Samsung Heavy Industries is a publicly listed South Korean shipbuilder specializing in large commercial vessels and offshore units.
