V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOC Port Authority), Tuticorin, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oriana Power at India Energy Week 2026, marking a significant step towards advancing clean energy and sustainable industrial development at Indian ports.
The MoU aims to foster collaboration on Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) pilot initiatives, along with the development of e-ammonia and e-methanol facilities, supporting India’s transition towards low-carbon and green fuel ecosystems.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority. Oriana Power was represented by Shri Omkar Nath, GH2 Business Head, who formalised the partnership on behalf of the company.
This strategic collaboration underscores a shared commitment to innovation in clean energy solutions, positioning VOC Port Authority as a key enabler of port-led industrial decarbonisation. The proposed initiatives are expected to strengthen the port’s role as a hub for next-generation green fuels, while supporting national and global climate objectives.
By integrating CCUS technologies and green hydrogen derivatives such as e-ammonia and e-methanol, the partnership aligns with India’s broader vision of sustainable maritime infrastructure and energy transition, reinforcing VOC Port Authority’s leadership in environmentally responsible port development.
