Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL) has achieved a major milestone with the successful launch of its first double-stack train service from the Multimodal Logistics Park (MMLP) Ankleshwar to Inland Container Depot (ICD) Garhi on October 15, 2025.
The inaugural service transported a mix of EXIM and domestic containers under a hub-and-spoke model, facilitating seamless movement of cargo from JNPT to ICD Garhi via Ankleshwar.
This marks GDL’s foray into domestic rail services from Ankleshwar to North India, further strengthening its integrated multimodal logistics network and enhancing connectivity between western and northern industrial hubs.
Samvid Gupta, Joint Managing Director, Gateway Distriparks Limited, expressed optimism about the expansion potential, stating:

The new service is expected to boost operational efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and support sustainable cargo movement through increased double-stack capability.
Looking ahead, EXIM operations from Ankleshwar are planned to commence by the start of the next financial year, aligned with the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) connectivity to Nhava Sheva (JNPT). The DFC linkage will further enable faster, high-capacity cargo movement between ports and industrial centers, reinforcing GDL’s role as a leading multimodal logistics provider.
