India is setting sail towards a transformative maritime future as the India Maritime Week 2025 (IMW 2025) — the nation’s flagship maritime event — prepares to take place from October 27–31 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon.

Organised under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, IMW 2025 will bring together global maritime leaders, policymakers, industry stakeholders, innovators, and investors to shape the next phase of India’s naval growth story.

    Ports: Powering India’s Growth Story

With over 95% of India’s trade by volume and 68% by value moving through maritime transport, ports have become pivotal to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. IMW 2025 aims to unlock new opportunities in infrastructure, technology, green shipping, cruise tourism, and global trade connectivity, positioning India as a leading maritime hub.

    NMPA Leads as Platinum Sponsor

As Platinum Sponsor, the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) will play a prominent role in the event, showcasing Karnataka’s maritime legacy and innovation. Marking 50 years of excellence, NMPA has evolved into a technology-driven, sustainable, and future-ready port, serving as the state’s principal gateway to global trade.

NMPA will participate in key sessions — including the Cruise Session, Technology & Automation Session, and Karnataka State Session — to highlight its achievements in digitisation, cruise tourism, sustainability, and port-led community development.

    50 Years of Maritime Excellence

Established in 1974 with four berths, NMPA now handles over 46 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo annually, connecting Karnataka’s hinterland to global markets. It plays a vital role in the export and import of crude oil, LPG, fertilizers, containers, and agricultural commodities.

The port has pioneered PPP initiatives, 100% solar-powered operations, and digital reforms, earning recognition as one of India’s most efficient ports. It is also a leading cruise tourism hub, welcoming thousands of international passengers and boosting regional tourism.

    Strategic Projects and Future Vision

Aligned with Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal 2047, NMPA is driving strategic infrastructure projects — including the mechanisation of Berth 14, a 150-bed multi-specialty hospital under PPP, modern truck terminals, warehouse facilities, and a dedicated cruise gate.

At IMW 2025, NMPA will engage in B2B meetings, policy discussions, and MoU signings with global partners to boost investment, innovation, and technology collaboration — propelling its vision to become a 100 MMT mega port by 2047.

    A Platform for Global Collaboration

IMW 2025 will feature over 500 exhibitors, senior government representatives, global delegations, and industry leaders. The event will serve as a strategic platform to attract investment and strengthen international partnerships, reinforcing India’s maritime leadership.

    Leadership Speak

“IMW 2025 is not just an event — it’s a gateway to the future of India’s maritime sector. NMPA is proud to contribute to this vision through technology, green initiatives, and global collaborations that drive economic growth and sustainable development,” said Dr. A. V. Ramana, Chairman, NMPA.

Steering Toward “Samudra Se Samridhi Tak”

As India advances toward becoming a $30 trillion economy by 2047, the maritime sector stands as a key enabler of growth. Through initiatives like IMW 2025, the nation is charting a clear course toward becoming a global maritime superpower — realising the vision of “Samudra Se Samridhi Tak” — from the seas to prosperity.
