Shreeji Shipping Global Limited has taken a major strategic step in reshaping its business model with the entry of its wholly-owned subsidiary into a Time Charter Party Agreement with AMNS Shipping and Logistics Private Limited. Under the agreement, the company has deployed its vessel, MV SJ LILY, for coastal cargo movement along the Indian coastline, effective December 1, 2025.

This marks Shreeji’s transition from its traditional lighterage stevedoring services to a more comprehensive, asset-backed maritime logistics operation.

    Strategic Shift for Shreeji Shipping

The deployment of MV SJ LILY is a significant milestone, aligning with the company’s long-term strategic priorities:

    • Diversified Service Portfolio: Shreeji moves beyond lighterage stevedoring into coastal shipping, signalling its evolution into an integrated maritime logistics provider.
    • Expanded Revenue Streams: The time charter arrangement supports annuity-style income, boosting financial stability and growth potential.
    • Enhanced Asset-Backed Operations: The use of owned vessels bolsters operational resilience and strengthens the company’s maritime capabilities.
    • Stronger Market Positioning: With established port relationships and controlled tonnage, Shreeji gains competitive leverage in a sector known for high entry barriers.

    Industry Outlook

India’s coastal shipping sector continues to gain traction due to its efficiencies and environmental benefits. The government’s push for coastal movement—given its lower cost, reduced highway congestion, lower fuel consumption, and significantly reduced carbon emissions—has encouraged industry players to shift bulk cargo to sea routes.

As demand rises for dependable coastal operators, Shreeji Shipping’s latest move positions the company to capitalise on emerging opportunities. The firm is also exploring additional coastal deployment prospects, potentially establishing itself as a key player in this expanding segment.

With the deployment of MV SJ LILY, Shreeji Shipping Global Limited sets the stage for a new phase of growth in India’s evolving maritime logistics landscape.
