New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) has continued its strong growth momentum in the current financial year, registering an impressive cargo handling performance.
As of March 4, 2026, the port handled 46.09 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo, surpassing the 46.01 MMT handled during the entire FY 2024–25 period. The achievement reflects improved operational efficiency, stronger engagement with port users, and the sustained efforts of the port’s stakeholders.
NMPA has also recorded steady growth in container traffic during the year. The port handled 179,594 TEUs in the current financial year so far, compared with 171,234 TEUs during the corresponding period last year, registering a 4.88% increase.
Officials said the performance highlights the port’s continued focus on enhancing logistics efficiency, expanding maritime trade, and strengthening its role in supporting India’s growing economy.
With steady improvements in infrastructure, operational practices, and customer services, New Mangalore Port Authority is positioning itself as an increasingly important gateway for cargo movement on India’s west coast.
