Express Global Logistics (EXG) has successfully carried out the transportation of two super over-dimensional cargo (SODC) columns along India’s western coast through a highly coordinated multimodal operation.
The consignment included two massive units measuring 70.00 metres (330 MT) and 65.80 metres (248 MT). The operation began with the careful maneuvering of the cargo within constrained yard conditions using 30 axle line Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), showcasing precise handling capabilities.
A critical phase of the project involved time-sensitive beaching, loadout, and sea fastening, all of which were completed within a tight six-hour window. The cargo was subsequently moved via barge, supported by a 2000 BHP tug, ensuring stability and control during transit.
At anchorage, EXG executed seamless operations, delivering the cargo on a Free Alongside Ship (FAS) basis onto a self-geared vessel through a double banking arrangement. The entire process was undertaken amid tidal limitations, dynamic weather conditions, and busy marine traffic.
Despite these challenges, the company ensured safe and efficient delivery through detailed planning, advanced securing techniques, and strong on-ground coordination.
