X-Press Feeders has announced a new intra-Asia service linking South China with Indonesia’s Java island, expanding regional connectivity amid growing trade demand across Asian short-sea routes. The new South China Java X-Press (SCJX) service will be operated in partnership with Gold Star Line, while OOCL will participate through a slot arrangement.

The rotation for the new service includes Shenzhen (Yantian), Xiamen and Nansha in China, followed by Jakarta and Surabaya in Indonesia before returning to Shenzhen. The route is designed to provide direct and more efficient connections between key manufacturing hubs in China and major Indonesian consumption and industrial centers.

Industry sources indicate the service is expected to commence in mid-May using three vessels, enhancing frequency and capacity on the corridor. The launch reflects rising demand for dependable feeder and intra-Asia networks as regional supply chains diversify and cargo volumes continue shifting within Asia.

The addition of the SCJX service strengthens X-Press Feeders’ footprint in the fast-growing Southeast Asia market and offers shippers more routing flexibility between China and Indonesia, two of the region’s most important trading partners.
