Shipping Corporation of India has appointed Chandran Durai Daniel as Director (Bulk Carriers & Tankers), strengthening its leadership team in key operational segments.

In his new role, Daniel will oversee the company’s bulk and tanker fleet operations, focusing on enhancing efficiency, optimising vessel deployment, and improving commercial performance in a competitive global shipping market.

The appointment comes at a time when the Shipping Corporation of India is looking to expand its capabilities and adapt to evolving trade dynamics, including fluctuating freight rates and changing cargo patterns.

Industry observers note that strong leadership in core segments such as bulk carriers and tankers is critical for maintaining operational resilience and capturing growth opportunities in international shipping.

With this move, the company aims to reinforce its strategic focus on fleet management and operational excellence while supporting India’s broader maritime trade ambitions.
