Maruti Suzuki India has crossed the milestone of dispatching more than 30 lakh vehicles through the rail network, marking a major step in the company’s shift toward sustainable and efficient logistics operations. The automaker said railways now account for over 25 per cent of its total vehicle dispatch volumes across India.

The company has steadily expanded its rail-based transportation network in collaboration with Indian Railways to reduce road congestion, lower carbon emissions, and improve long-distance vehicle movement efficiency. Maruti Suzuki currently uses dedicated rail routes to transport vehicles from manufacturing facilities to major regional distribution hubs and ports.

The increased use of rail logistics has helped the automaker reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions while improving turnaround times and lowering overall transportation costs. Industry observers said the milestone reflects the growing adoption of multimodal logistics solutions by India’s automotive sector as companies focus on greener supply chains and improved freight efficiency.
