Maersk will increase its fuel surcharge for truck transportation in Greece to 12.5%, effective 24 August 2026, citing higher fuel-related costs linked to the current situation in the Middle East.

The carrier said the adjustment is an exceptional measure and will remain in place for as long as necessary to cover increased operating costs. The surcharge will apply to both export and import shipments, with charges appearing on invoices under the Export Fuel Surcharge (EFS) and Import Fuel Surcharge (IFS) codes.

Unlike the previous monthly review cycle, Maersk will review the Greek surcharge weekly during this period. Updates will be announced every Friday for the following week, and no trigger mechanism will apply.

Maersk said it will continue monitoring conditions on a country-by-country basis and adjust the surcharge as required by changes in fuel costs and market conditions.
