The global popularity of K-pop is creating new opportunities for the air cargo industry, as rising international demand for Korean music albums and cultural products boosts the need for fast and reliable freight services.

South Korean logistics company Hyundai Glovis is expanding its air freight forwarding business to support exports linked to K-culture, including K-pop albums and Korean beauty products. The company has secured transportation contracts covering shipments to North America and Europe, strengthening its role in the international movement of high-value consumer goods.

The company has been transporting albums from SM Entertainment to destinations including Chicago, while Korean cosmetics are being shipped to Los Angeles, London and Amsterdam. Its services cover packaging, customs clearance, air transportation and final delivery.

Hyundai Glovis reported securing contracts to transport several hundred tonnes of cosmetics and music albums during the first half of 2026. The expansion reflects the growing importance of entertainment merchandise and beauty products in South Korea’s export logistics market.

The rise of K-pop-related shipments highlights how cultural exports can generate demand across international supply chains. Music releases often require coordinated deliveries to overseas markets, while time-sensitive merchandise benefits from the speed of air freight.

For logistics providers, the trend offers opportunities to develop specialised services for entertainment companies, online retailers and consumer brands. Handling these shipments requires careful packaging, cargo security, reliable schedules and efficient customs procedures.

As global demand for Korean cultural products continues to create new export opportunities, air cargo operators are positioning themselves to serve a growing market for fast-moving, high-value goods.
