Supplyco is preparing to export Sabari tea powder to Russia. The move aims at improving Supplyco’s presence in the international market.

Earlier, the civil supplies corporation had exported the popular brand of tea powder to Abu Dhabi, in the month of June. Indian tea powders are of great demand in countries such as Russia, Iran, and UAE. Supplyco’s decision to venture into the Russian market is expected to boost its prospects at the global level.

The corporation is mulling to export the product by August. However, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine is delaying the process. At first, a single container will be sent to the Russian market. Later, more of the product will be sent as per the demand.

The shipment will be done from the Kochi port. So far 16 tonnes of Sabari tea powder has been exported to Abu Dhabi. Supplyco has earned an income of Rs 36 lakhs through this.

Sabari tea powder is of great demand in Kerala. The tea powder is available in the market in different quantities ranging between 100 grams-1kg.

As per the civil supplies corporation officials, around 300 tonnes of the tea powder is sold every month.
