    Sri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India inaugurated the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Odisha owned by Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) on 5th March, 2024 through Video Conferencing. The Hon’ble Prime Minister also simultaneously flagged off the 1st Container Train, which started from the terminal (code: GGCJ, popularly called as MMLP, Jajpur) to ICD, Dadri (ICDD), Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural train carried Sponge Iron of M/s VISA Steel ably supported by the CONCOR Business Associate, M/s Rapid Multimodal Logistics Ltd.

    MMLP Jajpur is yet another addition to the list of many CONCOR terminals spread across the country. It has been set up on a land area of 63.27 Acres atJodabarin the district of Jajpur of Odisha state. It has direct rail connectivity of 1.3 Km from Jajpur-Keonjhar Road Railway station of Khurda Road division of the East Coast Railway. It is also directly connected to the National Highway No.20 through a clear district road. It has two full rake length Railway lines inside the terminal having reception and despatch facilities by Electric locomotives. It has a sufficiently big container handling paved area besides admin building, warehouses, and gated boundary wall duly protected by DGR security personnel. A proper Custom-bonded area is also soon to be completed, which would facilitate international container business besides existing domestic and Railway PFT rake handlingat the terminal. It has been equipped with DTMS, ETMS and other IT systems for smooth business working of the terminal round the clock.

    The MMLP has been set up with various logistics facilities, and provisions for warehousing, container and cargo handling,rail and road transportation, cargo weighment, Customs clearance, cargo consolidation, value addition, etc. Theterminal facility is surrounded by many renowned industrial entities of Kalinganagar Industrial Complex and others, like M/s Jindal Stainless, Neelanchal Ispat, Visa Steel, MaithanIspat, Tata Steel, JSW Cement, Uttam Valva, BRPL, KJ Ispat, Rohit Ferrotech, YSPL etc., which will get benefitted for their inward and outward cargo movements.

    The MMLP is poised to provide huge trade and logistics benefits to the manufacturers, traders and logistics business stakeholders for their various business activities besides giving employment opportunities, and ensuring overall development for the local people of Odisha.
