Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced that it has reached an agreement with premier technology startup NYSHEX.

According to MSC, the partnership aims to digitise the performance monitoring of its ocean freight contracts.

NYSHEX assists carriers, shippers, and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCCs) in monitoring the performance of its commercial agreements. Its technology uses a cloud-based platform to digitise these agreements, including critical terms, allocations, and service levels and compares it to current booking data, container milestones, and vessel timetables via automated processes.

The NYSHEX platform aims to provide MSC with real-time insights into its maritime contracts, allowing sales and commercial personnel to monitor performance, get automatic booking alerts, and respond more effectively and proactively to changing market dynamics and trends.

André Simha, CDIO, MSC, said: “The NYSHEX solution will give us greater visibility of our ocean contracts, with real-time monitoring and automated alerts on booking patterns. It will enable us to streamline the way we fulfil contracts and resolve exceptions, keeping our customers at the heart of every discussion and decision.”

Gordon Downes, CEO and Co-founder of NYSHEX, stated: “We are delighted to partner with MSC as the world’s largest carrier. MSC has an exciting, unique approach to digitalisation and customer relationships, which is very much in line with our mission to develop shared digital infrastructure to unite carriers, shippers and NVOCCs.”

Recently, MSC announced that its Mustang service would resume for departures in Asia beginning week 28.
