Israel launched strikes at Houthi targets in Yemen yesterday. The Israeli military said in a statement that dozens of aircraft, including fighter jets, attacked power plants and terminal facilities at Hodeidah port.

“Over the past year, the Houthis have been operating under the direction and funding of Iran, and in cooperation with Iraqi militias in order to attack the State of Israel, undermine regional stability, and disrupt global freedom of navigation,” read a statement from the Israeli military, which is also engaged in war on multiple other fronts. Israeli aircraft last targeted the port city in late July (pictured).

Houthi attacks on merchant shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden have seen more than 120 vessels targeted since last November. However, in September attacks have been cut back, the last confirmed strike being 28 days ago, the longest period of time since the Houthis started their campaign.
