    Shri Praveen Kumar, Managing Director, Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), led a high-level review of business development activities along the Surat–JNPT section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC). He was accompanied by Shri Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director (Operations & Business Development); Shri Manish Awasthi, Executive Director (Infrastructure); Shri H.G. Tiwari, Chief General Manager (Mumbai); Shri Roshan Singh, General Manager (Operations & Business Development); Shri Praveen Tiwari, Assistant General Manager (Operations & Business Development); and other senior officials.

    As part of the visit, the delegation conducted on-site inspections and held discussions with Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) operators, logistics stakeholders, and consultants to assess infrastructure readiness and explore opportunities to enhance freight movement along the corridor.

    During the review, the Managing Director stressed the need to accelerate infrastructure development and intensify traffic generation efforts. He highlighted the importance of shifting freight from road to rail to ease highway congestion, reduce carbon emissions, improve logistics efficiency, and advance India’s sustainable transportation objectives.

    The visit reaffirmed DFCCIL’s commitment to strengthening rail freight connectivity, promoting multimodal logistics, and unlocking the Dedicated Freight Corridor’s full potential to support economic growth, facilitate trade, and advance environmentally sustainable freight transportation.
