DP World has opened a new 11,514-square-metre warehouse in Johor, Malaysia, strengthening its contract logistics presence in Southeast Asia and expanding its integrated supply chain network across the Asia Pacific region.

The facility is located within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), a strategic location designed to strengthen cross-border connectivity between Johor and Singapore. The zone combines Johor’s manufacturing and logistics capabilities with Singapore’s established global trade infrastructure.

The new warehouse is DP World’s first of two planned facilities in Malaysia. A second warehouse in Kuala Lumpur is scheduled to open later this year as the company continues expanding its end-to-end logistics capabilities in the country.

The Johor facility will provide warehousing and inbound logistics services, offering customers scalable storage capacity and faster handling of time-sensitive cargo. Its location is expected to improve connectivity between Malaysia, Singapore and wider regional trade corridors.

Jeanie Tan, Chief Commercial Officer, Logistics, Asia Pacific at DP World, said the Johor opening represents an important step in expanding the company’s logistics footprint across Southeast Asia. She said linking strategic logistics assets with DP World’s existing ports and terminals would help customers move goods more efficiently and reliably.

The warehouse forms part of a wider regional expansion by DP World. The company plans to launch additional warehouse facilities in the Philippines and Thailand before the end of 2026, following recent openings in Hong Kong, Sydney, Icheon in South Korea and Singapore.

DP World is increasingly integrating its warehousing operations with port terminals, inland transportation and freight services. The strategy is aimed at providing customers with more comprehensive supply chain solutions while reducing handovers between different logistics providers.

The investment also highlights Johor’s growing importance as a regional logistics and manufacturing hub. Its proximity to Singapore, combined with the development of the JS-SEZ, is attracting logistics operators seeking additional warehousing capacity and efficient cross-border access.

With the new facility, DP World is positioning Johor as an important link in its broader Asia Pacific logistics network, supporting manufacturers, retailers and other businesses seeking more resilient and responsive regional supply chains.
