Hapag-Lloyd and Kuehne+Nagel have launched a joint initiative aimed at advancing sustainable ocean freight solutions and reducing carbon emissions across global shipping operations.

The partnership marks the first collaborative step between the two companies toward greener maritime logistics, focusing on the use of low-emission fuels, decarbonisation strategies and more sustainable ocean transport services for customers.

Under the initiative, Kuehne+Nagel will utilise Hapag-Lloyd’s sustainable shipping products to help lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with ocean freight movements while supporting customers’ environmental targets and supply chain sustainability goals.

Both companies said the collaboration reflects increasing industry efforts to accelerate maritime decarbonisation amid tightening global emissions regulations and growing demand for environmentally responsible logistics solutions.

The move comes as shipping lines and logistics providers continue investing in alternative fuels, carbon reduction technologies and greener supply chain practices to support the maritime industry’s transition toward net-zero emissions.
