A.P. Moller – Maersk has reported rising demand for refrigerated container services across its North American network, driven by growing shipments of fresh produce, proteins, pharmaceuticals and temperature-sensitive cargo.
The company said reefer cargo volumes have increased across key trade corridors as importers and exporters strengthen cold chain logistics capabilities to meet evolving consumer demand and supply chain reliability requirements.
Maersk noted that North America continues to see strong movement of refrigerated commodities including fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat products and healthcare goods, supporting higher utilisation of reefer containers and specialised logistics services.
The shipping and logistics group highlighted ongoing investments in cold chain infrastructure, digital cargo monitoring and integrated inland transportation solutions to improve efficiency and cargo visibility across reefer supply chains.
Rising demand for temperature-controlled logistics is expected to support continued growth in reefer shipping activity as global food trade, pharmaceutical movements and perishable cargo transportation expand across international markets.
