CMA CGM Group is expanding its port and logistics operations in Kenya as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence across East Africa’s growing maritime and supply chain markets.

The company is increasing investments in port infrastructure, inland logistics services and cargo connectivity to support rising trade volumes and improve supply chain efficiency in the region.

Kenya’s strategic location and the importance of the Port of Mombasa as a gateway for East and Central Africa have made the country a key focus area for global shipping and logistics operators seeking regional expansion opportunities.

CMA CGM said the expansion aims to enhance end-to-end logistics capabilities, improve cargo movement reliability and strengthen trade connectivity between Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

The move reflects growing international interest in East Africa’s logistics sector as regional economies continue to invest in port modernisation, transport infrastructure and trade facilitation initiatives.
