Global logistics major Kuehne+Nagel has strengthened its presence in India with the opening of a new Container Freight Station (CFS), aimed at supporting the country’s growing trade volumes and improving supply-chain efficiency.

The new facility is designed to handle a wide range of cargo, including import and export containers, and will offer services such as customs clearance, cargo consolidation and deconsolidation, and value-added logistics. The CFS is expected to ease congestion at nearby ports and provide faster turnaround times for customers.

Kuehne+Nagel said the investment reflects strong confidence in India’s long-term trade growth, driven by expanding manufacturing, rising consumption and improving connectivity across ports, highways and inland logistics hubs.

Industry sources noted that the new CFS will enhance hinterland connectivity and support exporters and importers with more reliable and flexible logistics solutions. It is also expected to generate employment and strengthen regional supply chains.

The expansion aligns with Kuehne+Nagel’s broader strategy to deepen its India operations and cater to rising demand for integrated logistics services across the subcontinent.
