Real estate developer Sumadhura Group has entered the Chennai market with a ₹400-crore Grade A built-to-suit Industrial & Logistics Park at Red Hills in North Chennai, strategically located along the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR).

Spread across 52 acres, the project will offer around 1.2 million sq. ft. of warehousing space and cater to manufacturers, automotive companies, e-commerce firms, 3PL players and other logistics-intensive sectors.

“We have done the groundbreaking and are targeting June 2028 for project completion. The first phase is expected to be ready by the first quarter of 2027,” said Vamshi Karangula, Director – Industrial & Logistics, Sumadhura Group. The project has been submitted for approvals, with construction to commence after the necessary clearances.

Sumadhura Group CMD Madhusudhan G said Chennai’s manufacturing ecosystem and strong port connectivity, supported by emerging hubs such as Red Hills, Sriperumbudur and Oragadam, make the city a natural second market for the group’s warehousing business.

Chennai recorded 4.1 million sq. ft. of Grade A industrial and warehousing absorption in H1 2026, up 11% year-on-year, making it the second-highest among India’s top eight cities.

The group is also evaluating further investments in Chennai across residential and commercial real estate, including luxury and upper-mid-segment housing priced between ₹1 crore and ₹2.5 crore, as well as business park developments.
