Smt. Arti C. Srivastava, IOFS, Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she praised the remarkable growth achieved by the Port over the years and commended its Green and IT initiatives. Stressing that vigilance is a collective responsibility, she noted its evolution from punitive to preventive and participative approaches. She highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence and the potential for predictive vigilance, calling for united efforts in the fight against corruption.

The programme began with a signature campaign, symbolizing a collective pledge towards ethical governance. Smt. Srivastava also released The Voice of Vigilance, a magazine compiled by the Port’s Vigilance Department showcasing system improvements undertaken by VOC Port. Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions conducted as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week.

In his welcome address, Shri P. Kavin Maharaj, IOFS, Chief Vigilance Officer of VOC Port, outlined the various activities organised under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” He underscored the importance of adopting vigilance not just through formal mechanisms, but in day-to-day actions that strengthen integrity across all levels.

Since 18 August 2025, the Port has been conducting a range of activities, including rallies, skits, essay writing, drawing, elocution, debate, singing, and digital presentations for employees, school children, and college students. Sensitization seminars and focused lectures were also held for contractors, vendors, officers, and staff.

The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances by students and VOC Port employees. Shri R. Padmanabhan, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer, delivered the Vote of Thanks. Senior officials, port employees, and large numbers of students from various schools and colleges attended the function.
