V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOC Port), located in Tuticorin, has reported steady growth in cargo handling and operational performance during the initial months of FY 2026–27.

The port registered an overall traffic growth of 7.86% up to May 2026 compared to the corresponding period of FY 2025–26, reflecting sustained momentum across its cargo operations.

The positive performance highlights the port’s continued focus on operational efficiency, improved connectivity, and streamlined cargo movement. As one of India’s key maritime gateways on the southeast coast, VOC Port plays a vital role in facilitating trade, supporting industrial growth, and enhancing logistics competitiveness.

Port officials attributed the growth to ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure, optimize operations, and provide efficient services to trade stakeholders, reinforcing the port’s position as an important hub in India’s maritime and logistics network.
