    V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority highlighted its ongoing development activities and future growth roadmap during a key interaction with the National Shipping Board, reinforcing the port’s commitment to strengthening India’s maritime and logistics ecosystem.

    Shri Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Chairperson of VOC Port Authority, presented the port’s operational achievements, infrastructure expansion plans, and strategic initiatives before Mr. Sameer Khare, IAS (Retd.), Chairperson of the National Shipping Board, along with board members during their visit to the port.

    The discussions focused on several important areas aimed at enhancing maritime efficiency and stakeholder services. Key topics included strengthening coastal cargo movement to support cost-effective and sustainable logistics, promoting shipbuilding and allied maritime activities, facilitating seamless crew change operations, and exploring the establishment of a dedicated Seafarers’ Club for the welfare and convenience of maritime professionals.

    Officials also deliberated on measures to further improve operational efficiency and strengthen VOC Port’s role as a major maritime gateway on the eastern coast of India.

    The interaction reflects VOC Port Authority’s continued focus on maritime growth, operational excellence, and stakeholder-centric development in line with the Government of India’s vision for port-led economic growth and coastal shipping expansion.
