Uzbekistan-based cargo airline My Freighter has officially started scheduled cargo operations with the launch of a new route from Shanghai Pudong (PVG) to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) via its main hub in Tashkent (TAS).

Flights will take place two times a week using a Boeing 767-300 freighter, with a total transit time of 17 hours.

My Freighter said its entry into scheduled cargo operations has been made possible through its partnership with cargo sales agent, Air Cargo APAC.

The airline said the new route addresses growing airfreight demand between China and Europe and will also help develop Tashkent into an international logistics hub.

My Freigher stated the route is “designed as a smart logistics solution, linking China’s largest manufacturing and export hub with one of Europe’s key cargo gateways via strategically located Tashkent”.

It added: “This allows My Freighter and Air Cargo APAC to offer an effective alternative to the region’s congested transit points such as Dubai and Istanbul.”

Priority cargo on the route includes automotive parts, high-tech equipment, semiconductors , e-commerce shipments and express cargo.

According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), China’s exports to Europe are expected to grow by 6% in 2025, driven by the redirection of trade from China to the US.

This has followed the US’ removal of the de minimis exemption that benefited e-commerce shipments, as well as changes to tariffs.

Last month, My Freighter carried out its first flight from TAS to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) in eastern China.

This followed a network expansion in July 2024 that saw My Freighter begin operating flights to PVG and Ezhou Huahu (EHU) after receiving authorisation to carry out flights on routes to and from Mainland China in April that year.
