The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) has contracted to sell its 2011-built Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier Jag Aarati to an unaffiliated third party, as part of its ongoing fleet optimisation strategy.

The vessel, with a capacity of approximately 80,324 deadweight tonnes (DWT), is scheduled to be delivered to the buyer in the fourth quarter of FY26.

Following this transaction, G E Shipping’s owned fleet will comprise 40 vessels, including 26 tankers and 14 dry bulk carriers, with a total capacity of about 3.32 million DWT. The tanker fleet consists of six crude oil tankers, 16 product tankers and four LPG carriers. The dry bulk fleet includes two Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax and two Supramax vessels.

Separately, the company has also contracted to sell one Suezmax crude oil tanker, with the transaction expected to be completed in the third quarter of FY26.

In addition, G E Shipping has signed an agreement to acquire one second-hand Ultramax dry bulk carrier, which is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of FY26, reinforcing its presence in the dry bulk segment while continuing to modernise and balance its fleet portfolio.
