The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) recorded a robust 27 per cent year-on-year growth in export-import (EXIM) container volumes during the calendar year 2025, according to an official release issued on Tuesday.

The SEZ handled 20,693 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in CY2025, up from 16,312 TEUs in CY2024, reflecting growing trade activity and utilisation of the zone.

Commenting on the performance, JNPA Chairperson Gaurav Dayal said the increase in volumes underscores the rising confidence of trade and industry in the SEZ’s infrastructure and facilitation mechanisms.

Spread over 277.38 hectares, the JNPA SEZ has leased out 129.73 hectares so far, while 34.16 hectares remain available for future leasing. The zone currently hosts 11 operational units along with one Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ), the release added.
