KSH Integrated Logistics has inaugurated Pune’s first dedicated empty container facility, marking a significant step in strengthening inland logistics infrastructure in one of India’s key industrial hubs.

The newly launched facility is designed to handle the storage, maintenance, and repositioning of empty containers, addressing a critical gap in the region’s supply chain. By providing a centralized location for container management, the yard is expected to streamline operations for exporters, importers, and shipping lines operating in and around Pune.

Industry stakeholders note that the absence of a dedicated empty container yard in the region had previously led to inefficiencies, including longer turnaround times and higher logistics costs due to container repositioning from distant ports and depots.

With the new facility in place, KSH aims to enhance container availability, reduce transit delays, and improve overall supply chain reliability. The yard is equipped to handle multiple container types and is supported by digital tracking systems to ensure operational transparency and efficiency.

Pune, a major manufacturing and automotive hub, generates substantial containerized cargo volumes, making the availability of such infrastructure crucial for supporting export growth. The facility is expected to benefit industries ranging from automotive and engineering to pharmaceuticals and consumer goods.

KSH Integrated Logistics said the launch aligns with its broader strategy to expand its footprint across key inland locations and offer integrated logistics solutions tailored to evolving customer needs.

The development also reflects growing demand for specialized logistics infrastructure in India, as supply chains become more complex and require greater efficiency in container handling and asset utilization.
