Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has marked a significant milestone in domestic rail logistics with the launch of its first movement of 40-ft CONCOR-owned containers from Chennai to Tughlakabad, Delhi.

The service has been initiated from ICD Tondiarpet (TNPM), reinforcing the terminal’s growing role in facilitating efficient domestic cargo operations. The inaugural movement comprises 39 containers being transported in collaboration with TCI CONCOR.

A key highlight of this initiative is the provision of end-to-end logistics solutions, with CONCOR managing both first-mile and last-mile connectivity. This integrated, door-to-door service is expected to enhance customer convenience while optimizing supply chain efficiency.

The introduction of 40-ft domestic containers is also aimed at improving rail utilization, particularly for lightweight cargo, while supporting the shift towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics solutions.

This development underscores CONCOR TNPM’s continued commitment to delivering reliable, cost-effective, and efficient logistics services, while strengthening the role of rail in India’s domestic freight movement.
