Deendayal Port has facilitated the shipment of LNG tanks for a terminal project in Bahamas , highlighting the port’s growing role in handling specialised project cargo and supporting India’s engineering exports.

The movement involved oversized and heavy-lift LNG storage equipment destined for an overseas energy infrastructure development. Such cargo requires detailed planning, specialised lifting systems, secure transport handling, and coordinated vessel loading operations.

Officials said the successful shipment demonstrates Deendayal Port’s capability to manage complex breakbulk and project logistics beyond conventional bulk and container cargo. The port has been expanding its profile as a gateway for industrial equipment, machinery, and infrastructure-linked exports.

The consignment also reflects India’s increasing participation in global engineering and fabrication supply chains, where domestically manufactured components are being exported for use in energy, petrochemical, and industrial projects worldwide.

Industry experts note that ports equipped to handle heavy and oversized cargo are becoming increasingly important as demand rises for infrastructure equipment, renewable energy components, and industrial modules across international markets.

Analysts said the LNG tank shipment to the Bahamas strengthens Deendayal Port’s standing in the project cargo segment while reinforcing India’s competitiveness in high-value export logistics.
