Shri Vijay Kumar (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), chaired a comprehensive review meeting with all Major Port Authorities to assess the progress of capital expenditure (CapEx) and key infrastructure projects being implemented across India’s major ports.
The review focused on the status of ongoing and upcoming projects, with particular emphasis on achieving timely execution, adherence to project timelines, and effective utilization of allocated capital expenditure during FY 2026–27.
During the meeting, Secretary MoPSW underscored the importance of close monitoring of project milestones and proactive resolution of implementation challenges to ensure that critical infrastructure projects are completed on schedule. He also stressed the need for accelerated project execution to enhance port capacity, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen India’s logistics competitiveness.
The review forms part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to modernize port infrastructure, support growing trade volumes, and align port development initiatives with the broader objectives of improving ease of doing business and boosting the country’s maritime and logistics ecosystem.
Senior officials from Major Port Authorities participated in the meeting and presented updates on project progress, investment plans, and measures being undertaken to achieve the targets set for the current financial year.
