The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) participated in the flagging-off ceremony of an export consignment under the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) at ICD Whitefield, Bengaluru, marking the implementation of the landmark trade pact.

Mrs. Soma Chaudhury, Joint Director and Karnataka Head of the FIEO Karnataka Chapter, represented FIEO at the event. She joined senior officials from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), the British High Commission, Customs, CONCOR, and industry representatives in flagging off the export shipment, followed by a post-ceremony interaction.

The ceremony celebrated the commencement of exports under the India–UK CETA, which officially came into force on July 15, 2026. The agreement is expected to significantly enhance bilateral trade, improve market access for Indian exporters, and create new opportunities across key sectors by reducing trade barriers and strengthening economic cooperation between India and the United Kingdom.

The event highlighted the collaborative efforts of government agencies, trade bodies, and logistics stakeholders in facilitating seamless exports under the new trade framework, reinforcing India’s commitment to expanding its global trade footprint.
