SITC International is set to acquire a 60% equity interest in Singamas Logistics (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., strengthening its presence in container depot and logistics operations in northern China. The transaction will give SITC majority control of the Tianjin-based facility.

Singamas Logistics (Tianjin) operates a container depot at the Tianjin Port Container Logistics Center, around 3–7 km from Xingang Port. The facility covers approximately 83,000 sq m, including a 77,000-sq-m container yard and a 6,000-sq-m warehouse.

The depot has a storage capacity of approximately 8,000 TEUs and provides container storage, handling, haulage, maintenance and repair services for dry and refrigerated containers. It also has a repair capacity of about 200 containers per day and 40 reefer power connections.

The acquisition will expand SITC’s logistics infrastructure around Tianjin, one of northern China’s major maritime gateways. Greater control over container depot capacity can support the carrier’s regional shipping network by improving container positioning, storage and maintenance capabilities.

SITC has been strengthening its logistics operations alongside its container shipping business. The company already operates and manages depot facilities in the region, while its Tianjin operations have continued to invest in management capabilities and operational efficiency.

The deal also reflects the growing integration between container shipping and logistics services, as carriers seek greater control over inland and terminal-related assets. Owning or controlling depot infrastructure can help shipping lines manage empty-container flows and improve equipment availability for regional services.

For Singamas, the transaction provides an opportunity to bring a major regional shipping and logistics operator into the ownership structure of its Tianjin depot while maintaining the facility’s role within the wider container logistics network.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen SITC’s presence in Tianjin and provide additional support for its intra-Asia container shipping and logistics operations.
