Hapag-Lloyd is set to increase its ocean tariff rates from North Europe to key South Asian destinations, including India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, from 1 September 2026. The revised rates will remain in effect until further notice.
The carrier will raise the base rate by $100 per container across the affected routes for both 20-foot and 40-foot dry containers.
For 20-foot dry containers, the rate from North Europe to Ennore will increase from $509 to $609, while the rate to Chittagong will rise from $1,090 to $1,190. The North Europe–Colombo rate will increase from $390 to $490.
For 40-foot dry containers, rates to Ennore will move from $593 to $693. The Chittagong rate will rise from $255 to $355, while the Colombo rate will increase from $155 to $255.
The latest adjustment represents another change in Hapag-Lloyd’s pricing on the Europe–South Asia trade lane as carriers continue to adjust freight rates in response to market conditions.
The revised tariffs will apply to sailings commencing 1 September 2026 and are subject to applicable surcharges and tariff conditions.
