DP World has appointed Jason Varsamidis as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of its Asia Pacific region, effective immediately, strengthening the company’s leadership as it continues to expand its ports, terminals and logistics operations across the region.

Announced on October 15, 2026, the appointment places Varsamidis in charge of DP World’s businesses across 22 markets, supported by more than 12,000 employees. His responsibilities will include driving regional strategy, improving operational performance and expanding integrated logistics capabilities.

Varsamidis brings nearly three decades of experience with DP World and its predecessor, P&O Ports, which he joined in 1997. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of DP World Asia Pacific from 2020, helping shape the region’s strategy, investment priorities and financial performance.

Before that, he spent seven years as Chief Financial Officer of DP World Australia. His experience also includes mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure development and business turnaround programmes.

DP World Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan said Varsamidis’ commercial expertise and deep understanding of regional markets made him well suited to lead one of the company’s key growth regions. The appointment is intended to maintain strategic continuity while supporting the company’s operational and commercial priorities.

In his new role, Varsamidis will focus on strengthening end-to-end supply chains, improving customer service and expanding the company’s integrated logistics network to meet changing trade and supply-chain requirements.

DP World operates ports and terminals alongside logistics and supply-chain services across Asia Pacific. The region remains strategically important as businesses seek greater supply-chain resilience, efficient cargo movement and stronger connections between manufacturing centres and global markets.

The company said it would announce arrangements for the regional Chief Financial Officer position separately.
