AMR India has secured a ₹363 crore contract for the Nagpur Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) following the conclusion of a fresh tender process, marking a significant development in India’s expanding logistics infrastructure programme. The project is expected to strengthen freight connectivity, reduce transport costs and improve cargo movement efficiency across central India.

The Nagpur MMLP is strategically positioned to serve as a major logistics hub due to the city’s central location and access to key road, rail and industrial corridors. Once operational, the facility is expected to integrate multiple transport modes, enabling smoother movement of containers, bulk cargo and industrial goods.

Industry observers said the award to AMR India highlights continued momentum in public-private participation for large logistics projects. Multi-modal parks are designed to streamline warehousing, cargo aggregation, value-added services and last-mile distribution while reducing congestion at traditional freight nodes.

The ₹363 crore project is likely to include infrastructure such as warehousing space, container handling yards, truck terminals, rail sidings and digital cargo management systems. These facilities can significantly improve supply chain efficiency for manufacturers, traders and exporters operating in the region.

Nagpur has increasingly been identified as a strategic logistics destination due to its location near major consumption centres and industrial clusters. Enhanced freight infrastructure there could support sectors such as automotive, agriculture, engineering, e-commerce and consumer goods.

The project also aligns with India’s broader push to modernize logistics under national connectivity initiatives aimed at lowering logistics costs as a share of GDP. Experts said timely execution of the Nagpur MMLP could boost regional trade flows and reinforce the city’s role as a key inland freight gateway.
