US-based C&C Marine & Repair has delivered an 87-foot pusher tug developed in collaboration with Goa-headquartered Nirmon Marine & Offshore Design Pvt Ltd, marking a significant milestone in India–US marine engineering cooperation.

Following the successful delivery, nine additional pusher tugs of the same design are set to be built by C&C Marine & Repair for the shipowner, Nirmon Marine confirmed.

The vessel is designed for inland towing operations and engineered to meet the demanding operational conditions of the Mississippi River. It is powered by two Mitsubishi main engines of 1,260 BHP each, ensuring high performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

The project highlights India’s growing engineering capabilities in the global maritime sector, demonstrating how Indian ship design expertise can deliver world-class, build-ready solutions for leading international shipyards.

“We are proud to complete the basic and production designs for this 87-foot pusher tug for C&C Marine & Repair. This project reflects our team’s strong capability in delivering detailed, build-ready engineering solutions for the US inland vessel market,” said Niranjan Nigalye, CEO & Founder, Nirmon Marine & Offshore Design.

With a team of over 80 marine engineers, Nirmon Marine & Offshore Design supports global shipbuilding programs through services including basic and production design, detail engineering, structural finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, and project management support.

The company added that it is collaborating with C&C Marine & Repair on multiple vessel designs for the US market, reinforcing its growing footprint in international inland and offshore vessel design.
