    In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24, Pakistan’s exports to seven regional countries experienced a 3% increase compared to the same period last year.

    Exports to Afghanistan, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and the Maldives contributed to a total of $981.410 million, representing 13.98% of Pakistan’s overall exports, which amounted to $7018.956 million during July-September 2023-24, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

    China led the list of countries to which Pakistan exported, surpassing nations like Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

    Exports to China increased by 26.42% to $633.374 million in the first three months of this year, compared to $501.000 million during the same period last year, while exports to Afghanistan also increased to $128.533 million from $127.157 million.

    However, exports to Bangladesh decreased by 38.28% to $144.506 million this year from $234.144 million, and exports to Sri Lanka also dropped by 17.72% to $72.192 million from $87.743.

    Exports to India decreased from $0.101 million in the previous year to $0.044 million.
