Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), under Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, has achieved its highest-ever annual container throughput, handling 2,15,538 TEUs during the financial year 2025–26.

The performance surpasses the previous record of 1,80,094 TEUs registered in FY 2024–25, marking a strong growth of 19.68%. The milestone underscores sustained momentum in container operations, improved efficiency, and increasing confidence among trade stakeholders in the port’s capabilities.

The achievement reinforces HDC’s strategic role in strengthening its position as a key container handling hub on India’s eastern coast, amid growing cargo volumes and expanding trade activity.

Port officials attributed the record performance to the coordinated efforts of stakeholders, including shipping lines, logistics operators, and trade partners. A significant contribution also came from Haldia International Container Terminal, whose operational efficiency played a crucial role in reaching the milestone.

The latest figures highlight HDC’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, streamline operations, and improve service delivery to support rising container traffic.
