Telangana is pursuing a structured roadmap to position itself among India’s premier logistics hubs and emerge as a global logistics destination by 2047, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced on Thursday.

Speaking at the Transport Logistic India 2026 conference held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai and organised by Messe München India, the Minister outlined the State’s comprehensive strategy to build a future-ready logistics ecosystem.

The roadmap focuses on infrastructure expansion, digital integration, progressive policy support, sustainability initiatives, and skill development. Sridhar Babu said the logistics sector would play a pivotal role in the State’s long-term growth strategy under the “Telangana Rising 2047” framework.

Under this vision, Telangana aims to increase its contribution to India’s GDP from around 5 percent at present to 10 percent by 2047, supporting the goal of building a USD 3-trillion State economy. Highlighting global trends such as supply-chain realignment, AI-enabled logistics, and sustainability, the Minister said the State is leveraging its strategic geographic location to strengthen its competitive edge in logistics.

Key infrastructure initiatives include the Regional Ring Road, Metro Rail Phase-II, proposed new airports, development of a dry port, implementation of Telangana Logistics Policy 2.0, and the creation of dedicated logistics parks to enhance multi-modal connectivity and efficiency.

The government is also partnering with Young India Skills University and industry stakeholders to build a skilled workforce aligned with emerging logistics demands.

Inviting industry participation, Sridhar Babu called for investments in multi-modal logistics, rail-linked infrastructure, air cargo, cold chain facilities, Grade-A warehousing, automation, digital logistics platforms, and green mobility solutions. He assured investors of expedited approvals, transparent policies, and a business-friendly regulatory framework to support long-term growth.
