Transworld Group, a leading global player across shipping, supply chain, aviation, and food solutions, has successfully operated a dedicated air charter service on the Sharjah–Mumbai–Sharjah sector on March 24, 2026, ensuring the seamless movement of food and essential commodities between India and the United Arab Emirates during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.

As geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region continue to disrupt traditional trade corridors and strain global supply chains, Transworld moved swiftly to protect the critical flow of goods. The initiative highlights the Group’s commitment to maintaining resilient supply chains while supporting the deep-rooted economic and humanitarian partnership between India and the UAE.

Mission-Critical Response to Ensure Food Security

With conventional freight routes facing operational challenges, Transworld leveraged its air charter capabilities to provide a fast, reliable, and dedicated logistics solution. The Sharjah–Mumbai–Sharjah flight operated without disruption, ensuring timely delivery of essential food supplies.

This operation underscores Transworld’s evolving role beyond logistics execution—positioning itself as a strategic partner in safeguarding food security and ensuring continuity of supply during volatile conditions.

Speaking on the development, Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan, Chairman of Transworld and Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardee 2025, said that in times of uncertainty, the strength of a logistics partner lies in its ability to act decisively and adapt quickly. He emphasized that the successful air charter reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining uninterrupted trade flows while reinforcing the strong bilateral ties between India and the UAE.

Ritesh S. Ramakrishnan, Managing Director of Transworld, added that speed, reliability, and execution excellence are crucial in today’s dynamic logistics environment. He noted that the dedicated charter solution was designed to provide immediate capacity and ensure continuity of essential supplies, with a continued focus on investing in flexible and scalable logistics solutions.

    Reinforcing India–UAE Trade Ties

India and the UAE share one of the world’s most dynamic bilateral relationships, driven by strong trade links, a significant Indian diaspora, and a shared vision for economic growth. With over four decades of presence in the UAE, Transworld has played a key role in enabling trade between the two nations through integrated logistics solutions.

The air charter operation forms part of Transworld’s broader strategy to strengthen supply chain resilience by investing in time-sensitive logistics capabilities, ensuring continuity even when conventional routes are disrupted.

Multi-Modal Support for Critical Trade Flows

In addition to the air charter, Transworld also reinforced maritime connectivity by deploying its vessel SSL Godavari to support the movement of essential commodities across the India–UAE corridor.

Together, these efforts highlight Transworld’s integrated, multi-modal approach to logistics—ensuring reliability, agility, and continuity in an increasingly uncertain global trade environment.
