Visakha Container Terminal (VCT) marked a key milestone with the maiden call of M.V. Ulsan Voyager, deployed under Sinokor Lines’ IFX2 service. The 196-metre vessel, boasting a capacity of 2,548 TEU, berthed at the terminal on Monday, signalling a major enhancement in direct trade connectivity between Visakhapatnam and prominent Far East Asian ports.
The IFX2 service features an efficient rotation covering Visakhapatnam – Port Klang – Shekou – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Chennai. The addition of this service is expected to significantly reduce transit times and expand market access for regional exporters and importers, particularly those aiming to strengthen their presence in East and Southeast Asian markets.
Terminal officials highlighted that the vessel’s inaugural call reflects VCT’s ongoing commitment to developing seamless and reliable multimodal logistics solutions. The new service is set to bolster cargo movement, diversify routing options, and further integrate Visakhapatnam into major international trade networks.
With this development, Visakha Container Terminal continues to reinforce its position as a strategic gateway on India’s eastern seaboard, dedicated to supporting regional trade growth and enhancing global connectivity.
