Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has opened its first vertical storage warehouse in Bhiwandi, Thane district, Maharashtra. The 2.84 lakh square foot facility is part of the Project Parivartan initiative. It seeks to use creativity, effectiveness, and sustainability to rethink logistics and warehousing. The warehouse has over 3,200 pallet positions and a high-density G+6 vertical racking system, maximising storage efficiency and minimising physical footprint.
Commitment to operational excellence
Saurabh Jhawar, Head – Product Supply Organisation, India & SAARC, said, “ In just 18 months under Project Parivartan, we have upgraded a majority of our key logistics hubs to Grade A facilities. This new warehouse in Maharashtra stands as a beacon of our commitment to operational excellence, digital integration, and sustainable growth—allowing us to serve our consumers with enhanced speed, safety, and care.”
Future-ready supply chain
In March 2025, GCPL opened its first integrated greenfield factory in Tamil Nadu, signalling a dramatic shift in manufacturing. The production facility will manufacture all popular GCPL brands, including Cinthol, Godrej No.1, Goodknight, Godrej aer and Godrej Expert Hair Colour products. The Vertical Storage Warehouse boosts the national distribution network by enhancing supply chain agility together with quick responsiveness.
The facility combines sophisticated material handling systems with AI-ML warehouse monitoring, IR fire detection, temperature measurement, gas detection and a single centralised Warehouse Control Centre. The VR-based safety training software platform delivers an immersive instructional experience to on-site personnel.
Driving good & green goals
GCPL transforms its supply chain at the Bhiwandi warehouse, advancing business goals and supporting its Good & Green initiatives. The warehouse design boosts automation and storage efficiency, shortens transit times between depots, cuts environmental impact, and enhances overall operational performance.
