Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL), one of India’s leading integrated intermodal logistics service providers, has entered into a 15-year exclusive agreement with Sawariya Shakti Group of Industries to operate rail services at the upcoming Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Ankleshwar, Gujarat.
Spread over 120 acres, the MMLP is strategically positioned to leverage direct connectivity to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), providing seamless access to key industrial hubs across Western India. Under the agreement, GDL will act as the exclusive container train operator, managing both EXIM (export-import) and domestic cargo movements to and from the facility.
Once operational, the logistics park is expected to handle over 200,000 TEUs annually, offering end-to-end multimodal solutions to industries in Ankleshwar, Bharuch, and surrounding manufacturing clusters. The facility’s design integrates warehousing, rail sidings, and road connectivity to national highways, enabling faster transit times and reduced logistics costs for customers.
Speaking on the partnership, Samvid Gupta, Jt. Managing Director, Gateway Distriparks, said: “This long-term collaboration marks a major step in strengthening our rail-focused, asset-light logistics network in Western India. The MMLP at Ankleshwar, with its proximity to the WDFC, will be a game changer for customers seeking speed, efficiency, and sustainable transport solutions. Our focus will be on delivering optimised operations with lower carbon emissions while providing unmatched connectivity to ports and hinterland markets.”
The MMLP is part of the government’s broader push to develop multimodal logistics infrastructure that integrates rail, road, and warehousing facilities, thereby improving India’s supply chain competitiveness. The direct WDFC connectivity is expected to significantly cut transit times to ports on the western coast, particularly JNPT and Mundra, benefiting exporters and importers in the region.
With this agreement, GDL further expands its presence in Gujarat’s logistics landscape, reinforcing its commitment to efficient, green, and technology-driven logistics solutions for India’s fast-growing industrial economy.
