The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has reported its second-busiest July on record, handling 794,268 TEUs.
This figure represents just a 1.5 per cent decrease compared to July 2024, yet stands as a substantial 19.8 per cent increase over July 2019, highlighting continuing post-pandemic growth and resilience in container movement.
Between January and July 2025, the port moved 5,211,550 TEUs, reflecting a 3.9 per cent rise from the same period in 2024, and an impressive 20.1 per cent jump compared to the first seven months of pre-pandemic 2019.
The port has maintained its position as the second-busiest in the US for loaded TEUs.
In May, the port claimed the title of busiest in the US, processing a remarkable 774,698 TEUs.
