Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Purohit said that investment proposals worth over ₹10 lakh crore from maritime industry leaders are likely to be signed at the event, scheduled from October 27 to 31. The five-day event will showcase the growth of India’s maritime sector, technological advancements in ports, and policy developments to representatives from over 100 countries, more than one lakh business delegates and around 500 exhibitors.

A series of special lectures on the global maritime industry will also be organised. Along with 12 major Indian ports, private ports will take part in the event.

Purohit added that deliberations and industry suggestions made during the event will help shape new maritime policies aimed at elevating the sector to the next level. He said V.O.C. Port, being one of the country’s major ports, will use the platform to highlight its strengths and advantages to participants and potential investors, expressing confidence that the port could secure investment proposals worth ₹1 lakh crore.
