Norway has expressed strong interest in collaborating with India in the shipbuilding sector, Norwegian Minister Marianne Sivertsen Næss said during an industry interaction. Highlighting India’s growing maritime capabilities and focus on sustainable shipping, she noted that both nations share a vision for greener and more efficient maritime solutions.

The minister emphasized that Norwegian expertise in advanced ship design and green technology could complement India’s robust manufacturing base and expanding shipyard infrastructure. Discussions are expected to focus on technology transfer, joint ventures, and skill development initiatives.

The partnership could significantly strengthen bilateral maritime ties and support India’s ambitions under the “Make in India” and “Blue Economy” initiatives.
